It is better to pick one post and update it as needed. If you have a post entitled “The Best Cake Recipes Ever,” treat it as an “evergreen” article. This means that the topic is always relevant. You can update and rewrite evergreen content. This is a better approach than writing new posts on the same topic.

WordPress allows you to add your posts to categories and using tags to help Google understand and parse your content. It cannot be clear to understand the differences. You will want to use tags for more detail and categories for the main topics of your site.
